The notes can be exchanged with banks upto a limit of Rs 20000 at a time at any bank from May 23, 2023.

The facility to exchange 2000 notes will also be provided at the 19 Regional Offices of RBI.

RBI had undertaken a similar withdrawal of notes in 2013-14.
