Hindutva means a common nation (rashtra), common race (jati) and a common culture (sanskriti)

The philosophy of Hindutva was given by Vinayak Damodar Savarkar.

Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was a freedom figher who even went to Andaman Cellular jail for his activities.

Savarkar wrote a book on Hindutva in 1923.

Since then Savarkar has been called the father of Hindutva.

Savarkar was closely associated with the activities of Hindu Mahasabha.

Some claim that Savarkar was involved in Gandhi's assasination.

But he was acquitted by the court from all his charges for lack of evidence.

Savarkar died on February 26, 1966 when he gave up eating food.

According to him, life is of no use which is not beneficial to anyone.

For sure, Savarkar was a great freedom fighter and influencing personality.
